Hi, it’s Joanne Connell from the library. I love to read, in fact, I can’t remember a time in my life when I didn’t have a book in my hands. Books are the greatest – the tactile pleasure of holding it and turning the pages, the margins waiting for scribbled comments, the joy of holding your place with a favorite bookmark. It’s not that I’m against technology, I just love the “real” thing! The problem comes when preparing for a trip and realizing there are more books than clothes in my suitcase…

If you’re like me, maybe it’s time to investigate the ereader options available to us to make travel, and packing, simpler. Kindles, tablets/iPads – regular and mini, smartphones, an expanding myriad of devices invite us to download digital content.

In addition to eBooks available in multiple databases, EFSC libraries maintain ereaders already loaded with titles that both support course assignments and leisure reading. College employees can try out different types of readers before purchasing a device of their own. Loan periods are generally 3 weeks.
