Swimming with Dolphins and Sharks
The analogy of sharks and dolphins swimming in the same waters is used as a metaphor to describe the challenges of leadership. Sharks are predators that strike fear in others, while dolphins, also predators, are seen as social creatures that travel together and create lasting relationships.
The idea is to keep an eye on the sharks but to focus on dolphins, which portray teamwork and the value of collaboration toward common goals. The positive aspects of people coming together to achieve leadership roles is the theme of this book written by an educator duo. EFSC’s own Maria Capella-Miller and husband K.R. Miller.
